BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT REPRESENTATIVE

 

Company Overview:

Our firm is a retained M&A advisor working with private equity firms, family offices and portfolio companies on the execution of their investment strategy for establishing new platform investments or expanding existing portfolio companies with add-on investments. We research companies that meet the investment thesis of our clients, prepare marketing materials and connect with target company founders and CEOs to determine their level of interest in a strategic partnership opportunity.

 

Position Overview:

 

The Business Development Representative (BDR) will be creating connections and initiating business relationships for senior members of the BD team. “Warm calling” to identified business founders and CEOs of privately held companies regarding a detailed marketing package they received outlining an M&A opportunity is a large part of the role. The goal is to engage these individuals and set an introductory call with a senior person at the company. Candidates must be professional, as they will be interacting with business owners such as Founders, CEOs, Board Members, Partners, Managing Directors and C -level executives. This is not just a job; it’s a career path in the Mergers and Acquisitions space for those desiring an entry into this market.

Exposure to private equity, family office and corporate clients is a portion of the development path, in this role you will have the opportunity to learn how these organizations acquire for growth, the industries and sub-industries of interest. You’ll be mentored by senior business development executives as they update clients on active acquisition searches, current M&A market trends, and progress companies through the process from interest to closure of the deal.

Our client’s success is predicated on the success of the Business Development team. We are looking for a candidate that wants to be in the long-term role and will offer a significant amount of upward mobility for a successful professional. The individual will build a valuable professional and personal network as they get experience in the role.

Your Responsibilities Include:

The primary responsibility of the BDR will be to set calls for senior business development leaders with business owners and/or C-Level executives to evaluate the company as an acquisition target for our private equity, family office and corporate clients.

Deal Origination (80% of the time)

· Reaching out to business owners and C-Level executives in a variety of industries via phone and email and schedule calls for Senior BD team members.

· Communicate our clients’ genuine interest in their company, explain our role as a retained M&A advisor, convey our client’s distinct advantages as an investor.

· Manage a pipeline of opportunities from initial outreach to setting call with a senior member of the team.

Account Management & Research (20%)

· Execute calls and emails via our platform Outreach, maintain accurate notes, tasks and follow up activities.

· Compile detailed notes and record for each opportunity.

· Coordinating client introductions with prospective sellers

· Participating (on occasion) in target introduction and client introduction calls

· Coordinate with the research department or conduct research to identify additional targets for Client Engagements in the company research platform.

· Facilitating the execution of NDA’s

Work Location:

This is an in-office position that requires working from downtown Austin Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm.

Qualifications:

· An undergraduate degree preferably within business with a history of strong academic performance.

· 3 + years of experience in a high call volume B2B sales or BDR role contacting C-level executives with a track record of success.

· Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

· Superior organizational and time management skills, and the ability to efficiently manage multiple projects in a fast-paced work environment.

· Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, problem solving, interpersonal and relationship-building skills.

· Experience using CRM systems, Outreach experience a plus.

Key Metrics for Success:

· Making an average of 50-100 outbound calls per day with a weekly goal of 300-500+ calls.

· Sending emails as a follow up to each call made but not connected leveraging our Outreach platform. 

· Generating a minimum of 10-15 appointments per week through calls, email and social outreach.

· Actively managing and progressing sales cadences via Outreach.

· Ensuring timely follow-up on all activities within 24 hours.

· Meeting or exceeding assigned sales targets and KPIs.

· Keeping Outreach and CRM data accurate and up to date at all times.

· Receiving positive feedback from team members or managers.

· Scheduling and conducting ongoing follow up with interested targets.
