About the Role:

The Hospice and Home Health Medical Assistant/Scribe plays a crucial role in enhancing the efficiency of healthcare delivery by providing administrative and clinical support to Hospice healthcare professionals. This position involves accurately documenting patient encounters, ensuring that all relevant information is captured in real-time, which is essential for high-quality patient care. The Medical Assistant/Scribe will also assist with patient intake, manage medical records, and facilitate communication between patients and providers. By streamlining documentation processes, this role allows healthcare providers to focus more on patient interaction and treatment. Ultimately, the Medical Assistant/Scribe contributes to improved patient outcomes and satisfaction within the Hospice and Home Health Setting.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant training program or equivalent experience.
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology and procedures.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
  • Experience working in a clinical setting, particularly in a scribe role.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Document patient histories, examinations, and treatment plans during medical visits.
  • Assist healthcare providers with patient intake and preparation for examinations.
  • Manage and organize patient records, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.
  • Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers, addressing any questions or concerns.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing follow-up care.
