Salary: $56,160 - 56,160 per year Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two years of extensive experience in civilian, military security, or fire prevention and safety, with at least one year in a supervisory role.
- Knowledge of OSHA Safety standards.
- Masters degree is preferred.
- Familiarity with standard security, fire prevention, safety procedures, and OSHA regulations.
- Valid State drivers license.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of Workers Compensation policies.
- Awareness of issues faced by underprivileged and minority groups, particularly youth.
- Must obtain and maintain CPR/FA certification.
Responsibilities: - Oversee daily operations of the Safety and Security Department to ensure maximum safety for students, staff, and property.
- Assist students in adapting to center life to improve retention by providing guidance, behavior modification, counseling, and mentorship.
- Ensure that assigned staff delivers services to students promptly and professionally, emphasizing customer service.
- Maintain confidentiality while reporting significant incidents through appropriate channels to support the health and safety of students and staff.
- Provide prompt assistance to students facing injury, illness, or emotional trauma.
- Participate in the development and updating of Center Safety & Security Plans and Standard Operational Procedures.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with local law enforcement and Emergency Management Services.
- Organize and conduct required Emergency Drills on-site, including tabletop and physical drills such as Active Shooter scenarios.
- Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of equipment and work areas according to Center, CSD, and DOL standards, including conducting property counts and submitting maintenance requests.
- Supervise staff, review and approve time-off requests, and manage timesheets for accuracy.
- Conduct interviews for potential new hires and make recommendations in line with State and Federal laws and company policy.
- Complete formal performance evaluations for supervised staff in a timely manner and provide ongoing performance feedback.
- Manage performance of all supervised employees, including issuing Behavior Modification Agreements in coordination with Human Resources.
- Ensure staff maintain safe, orderly, and clean living environments in their areas of responsibility.
- Assist in preparing staff schedules and generate weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as needed.
- Enforce all relevant laws, rules, and regulations, including the Zero Tolerance Policy, and report violations immediately.
- Patrol assigned areas to monitor for disturbances, safety hazards, and suspicious activities.
- Conduct regular security and safety checks and inspections according to a defined schedule.
- Address and document complaints, conducting investigations and creating incident reports.
- Communicate safety and security policies, including fire prevention guidelines, to students and staff.
- Handle necessary documentation for students who have been arrested.
- Develop and sustain positive relationships with State and local Emergency response organizations.
- Attend required training sessions.
- Implement and support the Centers Safety & Occupational Health plan.
- Facilitate the Centers Safety & Occupational Health Committee monthly and provide necessary training.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
