Structural Engineer will be responsible for designing, analyzing and testing load-bearing structures such as bridges, buildings, and other infrastructure to ensure they are safe, durable and meet the required standards. They typically work closely with architects, contractors, and project managers to ensure that the design meets building codes, and that the construction process is managed smoothly.
Key responsibilities of a structural engineer:
· Design, analyze, and test new structures, including bridges, buildings, and other infrastructure.
· Develop detailed plans and specifications for construction of structures, including calculations of loads, stresses, and other factors.
· Work closely with architects, contractors, and project managers to ensure the safety and adequacy of the design.
· Conduct site inspections and assess the condition of structures to identify potential problems and recommend repairs or maintenance.
· Conduct structural analysis and modeling using computer software and other tools.
· Understand and apply building codes, industry standards, and regulations to ensure compliance with legal and safety requirements.
· Develop project budgets and timelines, monitor progress, and manage resources to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
· Communicate technical information and recommendations clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, to clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications required for the role:
· Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or structural engineering
· Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
· Proficiency in engineering software such as Revit, BlueBeam, AutoCAD and SolidWorks
· Understanding of building codes and industry standards
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
· Strong track record of engineering consulting experience to contribute deliverables on-time and within budget.
· Demonstrates solid knowledge in structure and applied mechanics and high potential in problem solving in diverse infrastructures such as buildings, plants, garages, auditoriums, bridges, retaining walls, culverts, tunnels and so on.
· Initiative and capable of solving engineering problems and challenges encountered on distinct types of projects.
Proficiency in use of structural, civil, drainage, utility, and other related computer design programs in engineering
