Summary

The Manager of Distribution Training Services is responsible for leading the development and implementation of comprehensive training strategies and programs within Distribution Grid Services (DGS). These initiatives aim to enhance and expand employee expertise and capabilities to advance workforce safety, service reliability, and adoption of new technologies across utility operations and skills while aligning with the organization’s strategic objectives. The Senior Manager oversees the creation of training materials for design, scheduling, and other roles in DGS, manages professional staff members, and ensures that all training meets organizational needs, industry standards and best practices to enhance operational efficiency and safety.

What You'll Do

  • Leads the development and implementation of mid-to long term strategic plans for training programs for business units within Distribution Grid Services ensuring alignment with organizational goals and driving impactful results that support long-term corporate objectives and satisfy regulatory requirements.
  • Leads a team of training professionals and subject matter experts in multiple disciplines, fostering a collaborative environment to deliver high-quality training solutions that enhance employee performance and contribute to strategic organizational effectiveness.
  • Establishes operational objectives and delegates assignments to meet organizational priorities.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels to identify training needs, develop customized training solutions, and support of corporate and departmental objectives.
  • Leverages and implements technology and innovation in the development of training solutions to meet evolving business needs
  • Maintains awareness of industry trends and technological advancements in training development and delivery making strategic decisions to keep the organization at the forefront of innovation.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of training programs through assessments and feedback, making necessary adjustments for continuous improvement and optimal strategic impact.
  • Fosters a culture of continuous learning and professional development, empowering employees to grow and contribute to the organization’s success.
  • Manages relationships with external training providers.
  • Establishes and manages the departmental resources, making prudent decisions to maximize resources and support training initiatives.

Experience

A minimum of 8 years of related experience is required (if no degree, 12 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and related experience totaling 12 years).

Education

A bachelor’s degree related to the assignment from an accredited institution is preferred.

Hybrid Workplace

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
